Obituary


Otis Jones, age 73, of Talbott, TN, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his residence. He was a member and deacon of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carson and Virginia Jones; and son, Bradley Mark Jones. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vonda Greene Jones; sons, Gary (April) Jones and Doug (Jennifer) Jones; grandchildren, Sean, Haley, Aaron, and Carson Jones; brothers and sisters, Ruth (Claude “Buddy”) Alder, Imogene Riley, Betty (Fay) Barnard, Alfred (Shelby Jean) Jones, Bobby Joe (Linda) Jones, W.C. “Sonny” (Janice) Jones, Grover (Ileta) Jones, and Benny (Linda) Jones; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and special little friend, Demi Rouse. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. Sunday, February 7 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 8 at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. Barry Warren and Rev. Travis Bowden officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.

Westside Chapel Funeral Home - Obituaries:   Otis almost always accompanied Vonda to the Tennessee State, Southern, Illinois State, and Illinois 101.  Otis was a gentleman in every respect, I wish he played checkers.
